Wie Ide berichtet, haben zwei verheerende Fluten in den letzten Wochen das nördliche Zentralvietnam heimgesucht. Orte und Städte standen in kürzester Zeit bis zu drei Meter unter Wasser. Besonders stark betroffen sei die Bevölkerung in der Provinz Ha Tinh, in der die Menschen mit einem durchschnittlichen Jahreseinkommen von 450 US-Dollar leben müssten. In dieser Region kämpfen laut offiziellen Angaben 800000 bis 1,2 Millionen Menschen gegen die Flut und ihre Folgen, 200 Vietnamesen starben bereits. Um den Menschen zu helfen, unterstützt Ide nun ein weiteres DED-Projekt: ‘Der DED hat sich mit anderen vor Ort operierenden deutschen Organisationen zusammengeschlossen und ein Projekt zur Krisensoforthilfe begonnen’, berichtet der 37-Jährige. ‘Der erste Schritt war die Versorgung der Menschen mit Nahrungsmitteln. Wir mussten mit Booten in die Dörfer fahren, die komplett von der Außenwelt abgeschnitten waren. Sobald das Wasser zurückgegangen ist, wollen wir den Opfern der Flut Tiere übergeben, um den Menschen schnell wieder zu einem Einkommen zu verhelfen’, erklärt Ide.
Nach der Reparatur der Bewässerungssysteme, die mit internationaler Unterstützung über die letzten Jahre aufgebaut wurden, soll auch Saatgut ausgeben werden, ‘um die Menschen auch langfristig zu unterstützen’, so Ide weiter. Durch die Flut seien komplette Reis- und Erdnussernten weggespült worden. ‘Die Menschen haben nicht nur ihr gesamtes Hab und Gut verloren, sondern zudem jegliche Perspektive’, erläutert Christian Ide die schwierige Situation. Die Gelder, die Deutschland dem DED dieses Jahr zur Verfügung gestellt hat, seien allerdings schon weitgehend verplant. Die Bevölkerung sei auf die Hilfe ihrer Mitmenschen in Vietnam und auch auf internationale Unterstützung angewiesen.
‘Wir können nicht jedem helfen, aber je mehr finanzielle Mittel wir zur Verfügung haben, desto mehr Menschen können in ihrem Kampf um eine Perspektive unterstützt werden’, bittet Ide um Unterstützung aus seiner Heimat. Gespendet werden kann zum Beispiel an die Nicht-Regierungs-Organisation ‘Save The Children’s Souls e.V.’, Kontonummer 110011228, BLZ 52052154 (KSK Schwalm-Eder). Die Organisation werde von Ide geleitet, der ebenfalls für den DED aktiv ist und seit über zwei Jahren an einer Berufsschule in Ha Tinh arbeitet. ‘Die Spenden kommen direkt bei der Bevölkerung an und werden ihren Zweck erfüllen’, versichert Ide.
