The Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper in coordination with Vingroup, Ha Tinh province’s Department of Education and Training, and the Youth Union, organised a ceremony on November 26 to give scholarships to 342 flood victims.
The Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper provided urgent relief, including 20 tonnes of goods and over 10,000 aid packages, to Ha Tinh province’s floods victims. Vingroup rebuilt 400 houses, sent 600 heads of cattle and nearly 2,000 pigs, which total cost VND17 billion.
After the latest floods, Ha Tinh province, particularly in the five districts of Huong Son, Huong Khe, Vu Quang, Duc Tho and Can Loc, are dealing with many difficulties, lack of books, cloths and students face a risk of leaving school.
At the event, nearly VND1 billion was awarded to flood victims in total, including VND3 million for each university’s student, VND2 million for each high school’s student, and VND1 million for secondary school’s student. Especially, 20 poor students were given VND3 million for each.
