Martin, Lennart, Pia, Jan, Jan und Irina, freiwillige Helfer in dem Projekt von Save the Childrens Souls Urlaub Hilft, haben in ihrem Urlaub den Menschen in Ha Tinh geholfen.
Der Distrikt Huong Khe ist einer der am stärksten betroffenen Gebiete der Flutkatastrophe und zählt zu den ärmsten in Vietnam. Die Menschen dort müssen im Monat von 120.000 bis 200.000 VND, 5 bis 8 Euro, auskommen. Am 26.11.2010 verteilten wir daher, im Rahmen des Save the Childrens Souls Projektes Urlaub Hilft, eine Nothilfe an Decken, Jacken, Hosen und Babykleidung.
Ich möchte ein großes Lob für Irina, Pia und die beiden Jan`s aussprechen, sie haben durch ihren Einsatz Gelder gesammelt und damit Kleider und Decken gekauft.
Nach einer strapaziösen Reise erreichten sie, nachts um 4 Uhr Ha Tinh. Am Morgen des 25.11.2010 luden wir die Materialien in einen Bus und machten uns auf den Weg nach Huong Giang. Dort angekommen hatten wir erst mal ein Treffen mit der Distriktregierung und den Dorfleitern. Diese stellten eine Liste von Empfängern zusammen, die decken und Kleidung erhalten sollen. Nach einer Begehung in Huong Giang und dem Besuch einiger Familien, begannen wir die Mittel, bei der Distriktregierung, zu verteilen. Es waren viele Familien und Kinder anwesend, die uns buchstäblich die Sachen aus den Händen rissen.
Eine Verteilung wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit der Provinzregierung organisiert. Es ist sehr wichtig uns auf diese Zusammenarbeit zu stützen um Unregelmäßigkeiten in der Vergabe zu unterbinden. Wir führten die Maßnahmen durch und analysieren die Lage. Jede Familie muss bei der Vergabe eine Unterschrift leisten um den Erhalt der Hilfe zu bestätigen.
Nach einem langen Tag und viel Arbeit kehrten wir wieder nach Ha Tinh zurück. Es war für alle freiwilligen eine außergewöhnliche Erfahrung. Das Abtauchen in die Welt von Armut und Leid prägte alle, aber auch die Freude darüber viel Gutes getan zu haben.

Huong Khe is one of the most severe affected districts by the flood disaster that hit Vietnam a month ago. It is also one of the poorest districts in Vietnam. The people there live by 120,000 to 200,000 VND or 8 Euros a month. On 26 November 2010, we distributed blankets, jackets, trousers and baby clothes to the people on the name of Save the Children’s Souls Holiday programme. I would like to express my big appraisal to Irina, Pia and both Jans who have collected money donation by themselves and bought all those clothes and blankets.
After an exhausting trip, they reached Ha Tinh at 4 o’clock on 24 November 2010. In the morning of 25 November, we loaded the materials on a bus and came a long way to Huong Giang. There we had a meeting with the district government and the village leaders to put together a list of receivers who were the priority to receive those blankets and clothes. After a reception in Houng Giang and visits to some families, we started to distribute those aids at the district centre. Many families and children came to collect those blankets and clothes from our hands. The distribution was organized in collaboration with the provincial government who extended a significant support to us. This collaboration from the provincial government is very crucial to prevent a breach of rules and customs in this aid assistance work. Together with them, we also analysed and assessed the needs of the community. To monitor the impacts of our distributions, we requested every family to sign their name after having received the aids package.
After a long day and fulfilling tasks, we returned to Ha Tinh. It was a very special experience for all the volunteers to have seen the world of poverty and expressed their sympathy to people with less fortunate. Additionally, this experience has given the volunteers feelings of fulfilment and a lot of joy.
