Training For Myanmar’s New Economy At No(1) Industrial Training Center (Sinde)

The video tells the story of the Industrial Training Centre Sinde in Myanmar, which is facing new challenges due to the political and economic changes in the country. It is also the story of a long cooperation that dates back to the late 70s. At that time, the Ministry of Industry and GTZ established the vocational school together, equipped it with materials, curricula and teaching staff. Many of the teachers from Myanmar were further trained in Germany. Some of them are still at the school’s disposal, even after 30 years, and support it with their strong experience and expertise.
The German- Myanmar relations, interrupted by the military dictatorship in 1988, were renewed in 2012. Since then the Industrial Training Centre Sinde and GIZ are again working together modernizing the school, to meet the requirements and needs of the changing economy and to enable students to find jobs in the developing private sector.
